CARTO/ACMLA 2020 Conference Bursary
DUE TO THE COVID-19 SITUATION, THE CAG/ACMLA/CCA 2020 CONFERENCE IS UNFORTUNATELY CANCELLED
ACMLA/CARTO is offering a bursary for early-career librarians, archivists or MLIS/MAS students, who are new to geospatial and map librarianship, to attend the CARTO2020 conference in conjunction with the CAG & CCA to be held in Victoria British Columbia from May 25 to 29, 2020.
The bursary/scholarship includes a stipend of $1000 CAD towards costs related to the conference (conference registration, lodging, travel), and a one-year membership in ACMLA/CARTO. The successful applicant will also have their response to the question about GIS and map librarianship published in the ACMLA Bulletin
The successful applicant will arrange their own travel & accommodations and will be reimbursed after the conference.
Mentorship is an important component of this bursary, as the recipient will be paired with a mentor for the conference and the following year to help provide support.
Eligibility:
Applicants must be Canadian citizens or have Canadian permanent residency status.
Preference is given to applicants who are new or transitioning to the profession of map and GIS librarianship/archive.
Applicants do not need to be current ACMLA members or have registered for the 2020 conference in order to apply for bursary.
Deadline: March 23, 2020
Applicants will be notified by April 17, 2020.
