Beaches/Piers

Bring your swimsuit and enjoy a dip in Lake Ontario. There are two locations nearby.

If you are interested in swimming on Friday after the conference, please reach out to Sherri (sherri.sunstrum@carleton.ca) or chat with one of the committee members at the conference.

  • Richardson Beach has a full washroom and other facilities and draws a more mature crowd. There are some slippery rocks so water shoes or sandals are recommended.
  • Breakwater Park tends to attract a younger crowd and can be busy.
**Fun fact: The Gord Downie Memorial is located at Breakwater Pier.
